The Galibi Nature Reserve is in the North-East corner of Suriname in the district Marowijne. Two villages named Langamankondre and Christiaankondre are also part of the Galibi area. About 800 people live in these two villages and they are descendants of the Indigenous tribe called ‘Caribs’. These Caribs have settled in this area right after the abolition of slavery. Their main sources of income are agriculture and fishing as their ancestors have thought them. The traditional handicraft of the tribe seems to be preserved now with the introduction of tourism as another source of income.

This tour is available in April-May-June-July to spot the Turtles. But of course you can visit this tour in other months if you are a Nature and Culture lover
